About Me

My name is Austin Mansell, I am 32 years old and I live in Meridian, ID. I am an experienced mountain biker and I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and expertise in the sport.

Where It Started

Since a young age my life has revolved around bikes. From dirtbikes and BMX as a kid, to a deep passion for mountain biking as an adult, cycling has shaped who I am. My riding has taken me from ultra fatbike races in the Wyoming winter to ripping singletrack in Oaxaca City and Baja Sur. The possibilities are endless, and there's nowhere else I'd rather be.

Where It Went

My time on a bike has taken me to meaningful places—both on the trail and in life. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to coach with NICA, work as a guide, manage and wrench in bike shops, and help start a 501(c)(3) supporting non-motorized trail access.

I’ve been a student of the sport since a young age, and coaching is my way of giving back to something that has given me so much. At its core, riding is about growth, connection, and enjoyment and becoming a better rider simply helps us enjoy it more.

Why coaching?

Most riders don’t struggle because they’re unfit or untalented.
They struggle because they never learned the fundamentals in a calm, supportive way.

I coach because I’ve seen how powerful it is when riders stop feeling rushed, tense, or intimidated and start feeling in control of their bike and their decisions.

Good coaching isn’t about sending bigger features or riding faster.
It’s about understanding how the bike works beneath you, how your body moves with it, and how your mind affects both.

My goal is simple:
To help riders feel calmer, more confident, and more capable—so they can enjoy the trails they already love and expand what feels possible over time.

What makes my coaching different?

My "special sauce" is my diverse experience and energy I bring to my riding. I've explored nearly every cycling discipline, from fat biking to road cycling, mountain biking to gravel biking. I've traveled far and wide, carried my bike up mountains, and fixed countless breakdowns in remote locations. I've studied pro and amateur riders alike and developed simple but effective practices. My hope is that I can use my years of experience to provide approachable coaching techniques to help you become a more confident and skilled rider.

"The bike industry has brought me immense joy and a sense of belonging. It has taught me to dig deep even when I didn't want too and how to overcome fear. Not to mention it takes us to the most beautiful places on earth and unlocks a sense of freedom."
